Domain Appraisal Scam - Reborn!
Wanna buy one of my domain’s for 65% of my domain’s appraisal? Yes? Oh man forget about it, you are a scammer and you are running a scam business!
Confused? Here’s the story! I received a email:
Dear Sir or Madam,
We are interested to buy your domain name $#$#$.COM and offer to buy it from you for 65% of the appraised market value.
As of now we accept appraisals from either one of the following leading appraisal companies:
sedo.com
flyappraisals.com
accuratedomains.comIf you already have an appraisal please forward it to us.
As soon as we have received your appraisal we will send you our payment (we use Paypal for amounts less than $2,000 and escrow.com for amounts above $2,000) as well as further instructions on how to complete the transfer of the domain name.
We appreciate your business,
Yours truly,
Jeff Miller
You will ask me what’s the scam in there? Well one thing that should trigger the scam alarm system is someone offering you 65% of the appraisal of your domain.
Is someone a fool to offer you 65% of those nonsense appraisals which say your domain is worth 1000-10000$ for a domain worth 10$?
Well the emailer isn’t a fool but a scammer who is trying to fool you!
Here’s how the scam work:
- The scam email is sent you so that you run a appraisal for your domain name.
- Now the scammer displays popular Sedo site first to make you think it is legit. In some cases the scammer also mentions Moniker.
- Now you will see accuratedomains.com mentioned too in your email.
- Again a feeling, yes I am going right this email is genuine!
- Now here comes the scam business; the scammer will add a website url like Pozde.com, pedma.com, nameorange.com, flyappraisals.com (latest)
- The hidden motive here is that you may an appraisal through Pozde.com, pedma.com, nameorange.com, flyappraisals.com, since it offers the lowest price domain appraisal service of the three.
- You will love to use the scam website so as to sell your domain for 65% appraisal price.
- A lot of people would love to sell their domains for 65% of the typical domain appraisal price, which is why this email will scam many people.
When you get an email like this, just hit the “Report Spam” button in your email system. Report the scammer and the scam business!
Beware of the new domain appraisal scam if you receive such an email. Read the email. It teaches some good persuasion lessons.
Be smart, don’t be a fool. There are no rich jerks sitting online to pour free money on you. There isn’t anyone who will offer you money because they like you.
Its a simple scam business you get money out of your pockets! ;)
