With the launch of iPhone 3Gs at the Apple’s WWDC Conference 2009, the old iPhone obviously gets a facelift and revised price.

The newly discounted iPhone 3G will now sell at $99 and $149 for the 8GB & 16GB model respectively.

Apple hasn’t given any official pricing for the iPhone 3G 16GB model nor is it on their website moreover Apple keeping two 16GB products (iPhone 16GB 3G & iPhone 16GB 3Gs) in their iPhone line seems unlikely. Therefore one must hurry because the pricing for the 16GB iPhone 3G was spotted on AT&T’s website, the model could just last until existing stock is cleared.

But Apple has officially announced that the 8GB iPhone 3G will sell alongside the iPhone 3GS with a price drop ie., for $99 a iPhone 3G can now be purchased.

Whats new in the iPhone 3G?

  • Landscape Keyboard; facility to rotate iPhone to landscape to use a larger keyboard in Mail, Messages, Notes, and Safari.
  • Peer-to-peer games.
  • Spotlight Search.

and much much more…!

Hi Sunny I just had a Question for you. All these prices are for people who are ready for or already on a Contract with AT&T, am I right?? Cause I dont think that in India we will get an iPhone for just $99. And Neways If we are getting it for the same amount then I am sure there will be a rush for an iphone in the Indian Markets. Dont u think so?????

  2. Sunny Bajajon 10 Jun 2009 at 6:38 pm

@ Dennis: Yes the iPhone prices are for people in (or ready for) contract with AT&T. Indian telecom operators are thief’s! They sell a model for 30,000 Rs which is available for upto 10-15k in other Asian countries.

The 99$ price announced for the iPhone 3G will surely reduce the iPhone prices gloabally hence I do expect the prices to come down. Again we never know how Indian Telecom operators would kill its customers charging high prices.

But I do believe if the 99$ iPhone is launched in India, even the autowala’s, vada-pav wala’s and waiters would own them! ;-)

Best is; Get your handset imported from Bangkok or Malaysia or US, unlock it and use it! - Enjoy! :-D

is there somebody who may help me with my concern regarding how to get registered to AT&T from New Delhi?
i have tryed but the web site is asking me to put some data like as i where in USA actually.. it seems like they are not aware that i am trying to purchase the 3g iphone from India but in USA price:)
i need your help tell me what need to be done in this case?

  4. Sunny Bajajon 13 Jun 2009 at 12:38 am

Can a customer in USA subscribe for a Reliance Mobile in India.. No right? In the similar fashion you cannot subscribe for AT&T unless you a resident of USA. Ofcourse things can be done but then you need to have someone probably a relative in USA who will help you.

AT&T services aren’t available for India. You will have to wait and get a connection from Vodafone India or Airtel. :-)

    hi there
i am going to bangkok on 29 of june 2009. i am planning to buy a brand new i phone 3g 16gb from bangkok itself and i wanted to know that for how much will i get an i phone from there and would i also get the international warranty which would be valid in India or not pls help me out

  6. Sunny Bajajon 17 Jun 2009 at 11:42 pm

@ Mayur: I have been to Bangkok and prices wouldn’t be that cheap, moreover you will not get any warranty or anything nor International nor valid in India. As Apple phones sold are not in contract with any telecom operators.

I myself use a iPhone which I purchased from Bangkok, they hasn’t been any issues from 8 months now. :-)

i would like to know which version of 8GB apple i phone 3g will work in india becuse i am going to purchase this phone from U.S.A so i want to know the detaills please help asap

  8. Sunny Bajajon 18 Jun 2009 at 11:55 pm

@ Sarah: No version of any iPhone (locked) from USA will work in India. You will have to unlock the iPhone in order to use it with any telecom operator in India. Also there is nothing called as iPhone 3G version, its probably the software you maybe trying to address. Any iPhone software when unlocked can work in any part of the world. :-)

    Hello,

I want Iphone mobile 8GB then when it available to Mumbai

    plz reply me

  11. Sunny Bajajon 20 Jun 2009 at 10:18 am

@ Ramesh: iPhone 8GB 3G are available across India with Airtel and Vodafone; Also available in the Grey Market. :-)

  12. Sunny Bajajon 20 Jun 2009 at 10:27 am

@ Mayur: Mayur mobiles are cheaper than India but not ‘really’ cheap. Sometimes they maybe costly than a mobile available in India. They might sell you a refurbished mobile too. So be careful buy from a good shop in Bangkok. Also ask for warranty card and also VAT return certificate/bill so that you can claim you vat from Bangkok airport. Having a Warranty card, Vat paid bill will mean your handset is genuine.

You will for sure get a good handset for 15-20k INR just like you’ll get one in India.

Lastly no International warranty is available(In some cases it maybe available). But a genuine handset never gives problems. :-)
