iPod Integration For Mustangs, New Fords
Apple’s vice president announced in a recent press release the agreement with Ford to offer iPod connectivity in the majority of their 2007 models beginning later this year. Rumor has it that Ford’s iPod adapter will be known as “TripTunes Advanced.”
For the 2007-model year, built-in auxiliary audio-input jacks will be offered on the Ford Edge, Explorer, Expedition, Mustang, Fusion, Sport Trac, Ranger, F-150, Mercury Milan, Mountaineer, Lincoln MKX, Lincoln MKZ, Navigator and Lincoln Mark LT. The jacks allow customers to bring any iPod or other MP3 player with a standard 3.5 millimeter audio output into their vehicle and play it through the audio system.

The package is intended to provide drivers with outstanding sound quality, and iPod charging while conveniently storing the in the glove compartment. Seamless iPod integration also allows drivers to use their car’s multifunction controls to select their music using artist, album, playlist or shuffle songs, as well as to easily skip between tracks and playlists. I had also come across the full specifications in various car magazines, for sure the ipod integration will benefit thosands of ipod user out there!
iPod integration has attracted numerous auto manufacturers from Volkswagen to Ferrari, move over Sirrus and XM satellite radio! Mark Fields, Ford’s president of the Americas said: “We see the booming trend in the audio marketplace, and we are responding quickly in our vehicles.”
