using internet explorer, when u need to open a new window of you browser , it opens in a separate window, and uses extra space in the taskbar , open five windows of internet explorer and your taskbar is full. using mozilla firefox you can make make tabs for the each page, and all tabs can be opened in one window. so now useless stuff on the taskbar

Image Ad-block
using a 56k modem , its annoying to see gif images ads on the top and bottom of the pages. 20 kb advertisement on the top and 20kb on bottom , 40kb of page load on each page ! , can u block those ads? yes just right click and select block , its that simple in firefox.

Flash Ad-block
similarly u can block heavy flash files ads. Just download the ad-block plug-in for flash for firefox.
